SEATTLE WOMEN'S CHORUS AND CELL PHONES A huge thank you to the Seattle Women's Chorus, and Claire Mouflard and Lisa Parker, for collecting 38 cell phones for our students in Kenya. The phones were given to university student Benjamin Musango. He was able to sell the phones in Nairobi and pay his remaining tuition for the 2013 school year. Amazing what a used cell phone can do! THANK YOU TO OUR SUPPORTERS! Thank you all who came by First Friday and purchased everyone of our baskets and items from Kenya. Also a huge thank you to the Olive Bridge Fund, the Raskob Foundation, our friend in Sisters, OR, the WHH Foundation and AMREF in Kenya for your support. Let's start fish farming! FIRST FRIDAY IN BEND - MARCH 1ST First Friday In Bend! Stop by for a little vino, lemon drops, apps and check out all our handcrafted items brought back from Kenya in Dec. of 2012. FISH FARMING 2013 Nomad's next project includes building a pilot project for fish farming on our land. We have the water, the solar energy, the security and the Kenyan government will supply the workers to dig the pond. We now need a liner and then the fish stock, which we can get in Kibwezi. A money maker for Nomad! ONE MONTH IN AFRICA! I can't even begin to tell you how rewarding this trip was to Kibwezi this past month.
